3RD STORY ADDITION COMPLETE GUT REHAB
This property started out as a quick interior renovation but grew into something much more. The pandemic put the house on hold and gave us the opportunity to create something more fitting for the dynamic Passyunk neighborhood. We decided to add a 3rd story with a primary suite and underpin the basement allowing full 8’ ceilings, another bedroom and a full bathroom. The kitchen was wide enough to add both an island and a 6’ long wet bar with exposed shelving above. Crackled gray subway tile in herringbone pattern, a custom trimmed hood, brass sconces, pendants and pot filler complete the polished style. The additional space in the primary allowed us to move the laundry room upstairs, increase the closet to a true 8’x7’ walk-in and create an incredible 7’x 5’ shower. We wanted the design to be timeless yet warm. We incorporated rich blue tones in both the kitchen cabinets and Spanish tile seen in the 2nd floor bathroom and master bathroom. Brushed brash hardware are featured throughout the kitchen and primary. Solid red oak floors, a red oak trimmed hood and exposed kitchen shelves made from reclaimed joists from the property add the warmth to a very contemporary home. The custom tile entry, steel railings and solid core doors are meant to last for many years to come.
